He is the best golfer I have ever seen and when all is said and done the best golfer ever. I have not watched a tournament since his last, and have been anxiously waiting for his return.

I downloaded the masters app this morning and cannot wait until 1:42 to get it up and running. It is not about the person to me, it is about the player. I have said in the past that I am fans of players and performers. We are not perfect and should not expect the people we root for to be perfect. I am sure that we all root and have rooted for people that have done as bad if not worse. I do not like what he did, but that is between him and his family. I want to watch him play and win. I do not expect him to win, but to be in the mix come Sunday. So if you need me this weekend, I will be on the couch watching men hit a little ball very far.

This afternoon marks the "triumphant" return of Tiger Woods to the PGA tour. It is a miracle he is even back, what with the broken leg he suffered just weeks ago...wait, what, he didn't suffer an injury? It is simply astonishing the mental prowess it takes for someone to return to the world of professional golf just days after the tragic death of a family member...wait, what, he didn't suffer a loss in his family?

Why is his return so triumphant?

He drank and drugged himself silly while sleeping around with 15+ hot waitresses and "dancers" cheating on his wife and two kids?

Wow!! Who could ever comeback from that?

Why is this such a big deal? He made some egregious mistakes in his personal life and now it is his chance for rendemption?

News flash, he's not going to redeem himself on the golf course. The only redemption will come at the hands of his wife, if she can find it somewhere in her heart, and she has to have a BIG heart, to forgive his infidelity.

Tiger Woods' return to golf is the return of a truly amazing athlete, but it is NOT a triumphant return to the "image" that he once had.

So why won't I be watching him tee off this afternoon?

1.) I Am NOT Curious: There will be a lot of people that tune in to the Masters who are not golf fans. On-lookers who will be curious how Tiger will react, how the fans will react, how the media will react. I can tell you already, without even watching. Tiger will be nervous and rusty - his game will not be at the level it usuaully is and his fans will be disappointed at first. The fans will cheer him (he will not be jeered.) The media will over-hype it and make it the biggest deal in the history of all sports if he hits even a remotely straight tee shot.

2.) Tiger Won't Be Tiger: If you watched golf recently, you know, before the Tiger "scandal," you were watching an athlete at the top of his game. A guy who was truly a phenomenol athlete that was racing to the front page of the history books, that was Tiger then. The Tiger you watch tee off at Augusta this afternoon will not be the same man. There will be less fire in his eyes (something he has already even admited to saying that he will tone down his outburts on the course.) He will be more subdued and quite frankly his game will be off. Why watch a once amazing athlete stumble back to mediocrity?

So Adam quit the show. Actually he is house shopping with the Mrs. tonight. The Celtics are getting better with every game, just kidding again. Big Papi is horrible and washed up, Timmy is not kidding, although he is actually more concerned with another member of the Sox. He and Rubba Shoes run the gamut from BC hockey predictions to what color Tiger's balls are...really! Again, not necessarily true. The final moments of fantasy hockey and hoops are analyzed by Uncle Dukes as he discusses with Timmy if Rubba Shoes and Coach K are already cheating at baseball. Well, Tiger needs a mulligan. Ok, five or more. The Winter Meetings are not heating up for the Sox. Maybe it's because they are in Indianapolis. I am so excited for the WGC-Accenture Match Play tournament. Tiger is back. I'll be watching and for that matter, I'll be watching every tournament that he is in. I don't really get into the tournaments unless Tiger is involved. Before Tiger, I would watch the Masters, U.S. Open, British Open and the PGA Championship. Now with Tiger back, if he is in a tournament going into the weekend I'll be watching.

I didn't get to see Jack or Arnie in their prime, so it is unfair for me to compare him to them, but he is the best I've ever seen, and will probably ever see. I have gone to see him play in person once and came away a bigger fan, than I was before I went. The power that he hits the ball with is unbelievable. The only person I saw that came close was John Daly. Which is pretty funny. If he could actually get himself into shape and get off everything, he could be one of the best on the tour.

The good weather is coming, Tiger is back, the Sox are in Ft. Meyers. That means my TV will be full time sports. The Sox which play just about every day, golf and NASCAR. Throw in a little LPGA which I watch just for the scenery. Well that's all I have for now, I'm Rubba Shoes Corey, keepin' it real.
