All of the staffs beloved teams are on enemy turf (no pun intended) this weekend. Scotty Dukes Wolverines are in Madison, Rubba Shoes Irish are at Pittsburgh and Timmy's Eagles are in Virginia to take on the Cavaliers. Not to mention another flight to Indianapolis for our New England Patriots. What gives? Dr. Bobby Dugan puts the guys through a verbose yet informational explanation of why the Colts always seem to host these games. They'll check to see if anything is boiling on Theo's "hot stove" and round up the fantasy scores to see who has bragging rights, for now at least. It's the weekend preview with Timmy & Rubba Shoes on the Wicked Pissa Dude Podcast. Thanks for listening, have a great weekend and thanks again to all of our military personnel present and past.theshow@wickedpissadude.com

When the Red Sox and the Angels were set to play yet again in the ALDS most people thought it would be business as usual. The Sox have dominated the Halos over the past few seasons when it mattered most. I am not going to sit here and lie to you and say that I was not one of those people, I was thinking that the teams were more evenly matched this season, but none the less the Sox were going to win. Well the day has to come when you no longer have someones number, it happens in every sport (Pats vs Colts is the first that comes to mind) and for the Red Sox it has now happened in back to back seasons. The Tampa Bay Rays lost the "Devil" in their name and then lost the jinx against the Sox and bounced them out in the ALCS.This time around there wouldn't even be a decisive final game i.e. a game 5 as the Sox are swept out of the playoffs for the first time since the eventual champion White Sox did it in '05. So instead of looking at the many reasons the Sox lost this series (poor fielding, uninspired pitching, lack of hitting, and a bullpen that was very shaky) let us look to the off season and who will be around Jason Bay, maybe Jason Varitek, most likely as an expensive backup. What about the rotation will Wake return? Will Dice-K be healthy? Can Clay keep the momentum from a good season? All these questions and more in the weeks to come...since we don't have any more Red Sox baseball to watch the rest of 2009, we must all trust Theo and company to answer these questions and more so we don't lose yet another number next fall.

With just a few minutes left to go in the 4th quarter, down by three, Matt Cassel was driving the New England Patriots down the field for his first game winning drive since he took over the reigns from Tom Brady. Only one problem, Dave Thomas, no not the founder of Wendy's, but ok, for argument sake we'll call him David Thomas. He was the man who's late hit would end the Patriots hopes of sole possession of first place and made next week's game against the Bills (which I am going to) a big one indeed. It's easy to put it all on that one play, but there were many other things that happened in last nights 18-15 loss to the Colts that you could point to as well. Whether it was Jabar Gafney dropping a SURE touchdown toss from Cassel or the fact that the Patriots never once tested Indy deep with Randy or even the challenge that Bill Belichick lost to rid the Patriots of a time out that they desperately could've used at the end of last nights game. Point to any of these things, but there's really just one thing to say, the Patriots under Matt Cassel are not the Patriots under Tom Brady.
Don't get me wrong, Matt Cassel was good and the offense looked like it had finally figured something out (with the notable exception of no deep balls to Randy) but if this was a Tom Brady team, it wouldn't have been close. The way the Colts are playing this season, with Tom Brady under center, the Oil Can would've been empty by the third quarter.
That being said, I understand we're not lucky enough to have MVP TFB under center this season. So here's hoping that what Bobby Kraft told John Madden last night is true, Tom Brady is recovering nicely and is right on schedule, because 2009 never looked so good.
More on the game tonight on Wicked Pissa Dude Radio (check back early tomorrow morning for a new episode.)
