Episode 166 - Table For Two

It was intimate and romantic. No, not Coach Belichick's Dinner with Tim Tebow, Timmy and Adam all by themselves doing the show. Although the "dinner" in the North End Monday night has garnered much more attention. The guys will make their season opening AL East predictions and talk about how Tebow may or may not fit in here in New England. Not to mention those fattening Cadbury cream eggs. Wait, what? All this and a double salute to hip hop. A "New Hampshire" cover of a Jay-Z favorite and a K-Blow classic. It's All here on the Wicked Pissa Dude Podcast. Happy Easter from the guys.

    That's Al Folks

Boston College today announced the "mutual parting of ways" between the university and it's head coach of men's basketball. The decision apparently a week old and not a moment too soon for this fan. The argument for coach Skinner is tangible. BC has lofty expectations for its athletes from academics to moral code. That was the case upon his arrival as it remains today. He leaves BC the schools most successful head coach of all time at 247-165 along with seven trips to the dance since 2001. He had a great run at the Heights but this is coaching and it boils down to what have you done for us lately. If you look at the five seasons since joining the ACC the wins are down and the teams tournament depth has been shallow and the graduation rate is dropping (still higher than FSU - you're shocked I know).

Let's face it, upheaval at the head coaching position will be DeFilipo's legacy when he steps down as AD of the Eagles. Some people are waiting for that day with eager anticipation. Unfortunately for BC fans Gene will be conducting another "nationwide search." OK, shouldn't it be a nationwide search? If it is merely a statewide search hire our very own Coach K. (Kevin Branco) and at least the energy level and colorful language will be at an all time high. Speaking of Coach K and the likes of Scotty Dukes, I am sure they will come at me with all the stats in the world of why this is a bad decision. After all Gene does not have a plan, if he did today's presser would be followed by an announcement of another one tomorrow at 3pm. Alas, there is no new coach yet. Who will it be? What are they willing to spend? Will someone else be able to recruit better than Skinner has as of late?

No doubt the new coach will be local. Most likely from a mid-major school. The latest rumors have Eagles fans dreaming of Bruce Pearl from Tennessee, a BC graduate and a Massachusetts native. He has a son on the team in Knoxville and is in a great spot there. He is a triple dog dare you long shot (read - not a chance). Tommy Amaker at Harvard is already in town and understands how to recruit kids that can read. This would not necessarily be an improvement. He struggled at Michigan and Seton Hall. When the dust settles Eagles fans will most likely be underwhelmed by the hire and realize that it is ultimately just a new face roaming the bench area. I for one will be shocked if Gene is able to lure a big name to the Heights such as Jamie Dixon from Pitt. No doubt any rising star to take the gig will be gone as soon as the next offer comes along. So, prepare to welcome Northeastern's Billy Coen - oh, sorry was that out loud?

Episode 165 - Less is More

Adam and Timmy are back for the FINAL weekend wrap-up. What?!?!?!? The FINAL weekend wrap-up? Fear not, we're just consolidating, you know the whole less is more thing, after all, we are in a recession.

No, it has nothing to do with money, just the fact that we thought we could bring you more of the information you want in one solid weekly show, rather then stretching it out to two days a week. Soooooo...listen up as Adam and Timmy spell out the changes for you and then talk about Coach K's encounter with the Boston Celtics Dancers (Shamrockettes was passed on by Wyc.)

The fellas also touch on a former family feud over at Gillette that was recently exposed between Tom Brady and Josh McDaniels and whether or not the Patriots "Franchise" is going to get a new deal before the start of the season. They also discuss what the Red Sox are going to do with Josh Beckett and whether or not he's still considered the ace of the staff or if there even is one at this point.

The Celtics are streaking (I said the Celtics, NOT the Celtics dancers, sorry boys) and the Bruins are still reeling from some hard hitting.

The shock of the night goes to Adam who is positioned as a possible front runner in the Wicked Pissa Dude March Madness bracket. If the Mountaineers of West Virginia can win one more game, Coach K might get knocked off the mountain. And a check of the Fantasy leagues continues to be kind to the Branco family.

In "almost" professional sports, Scotty Dukes and the WickedPissaDude.com Men's League basketball team won their first game of the season 69-62. GOOOOOOOOOO TEAM!!!

Don't forget, starting Wednesday night, the whole gang will be in the building for the show that is ONE DAY a week.

For that show, we want to hear from you. We'll be introducing a segment with questions from you. So, if you want to ask any member of the staff a question about ANYTHING shoot us an e-mail @ theshow@wickedpissadude.com , leave the question on our Facebook wall or give us a call and leave the question on the "Wicked Hot" Line (339)368-6223.

    Have a great week.

Episode 139 - No Glad Tidings

This week starts of with a bang as Timmy and Rubba Shoes welcome some surprise guests to the show. The focus remains on Adams rant about Rasheed Wallace as "some people" just can't shake the baseless argument he offered. Hint - he is a coach for Chelmsford High School. Also Rubba Shoes explains why he is glad that Mikey Lowell hasn't quite left town yet and discusses his inability to beat anyone in his family when playing the Wii.

Timmy just came down off the mountain, literally. He spent the afternoon training with his new race team - Acidotic Racing as "Team Cameron" prepares for the Granite State Snowshoe Series. You can get involved here. All this and the pigskin predictions for the Patriots and BC's Emerald Bowl game with USC. Oh and of course the fantasy round up with Bobby Dugan and Uncle Dukes. On the Merry Christmas - YES MERRY CHRISTMAS edition of The Wicked Pissa Dude Podcast. Thanks for listening and have a great weekend.

Episode 129 - On The Road Again?

All of the staffs beloved teams are on enemy turf (no pun intended) this weekend. Scotty Dukes Wolverines are in Madison, Rubba Shoes Irish are at Pittsburgh and Timmy's Eagles are in Virginia to take on the Cavaliers. Not to mention another flight to Indianapolis for our New England Patriots. What gives? Dr. Bobby Dugan puts the guys through a verbose yet informational explanation of why the Colts always seem to host these games. They'll check to see if anything is boiling on Theo's "hot stove" and round up the fantasy scores to see who has bragging rights, for now at least. It's the weekend preview with Timmy & Rubba Shoes on the Wicked Pissa Dude Podcast. Thanks for listening, have a great weekend and thanks again to all of our military personnel present and past.

    Episode 108 - TBFTFT

If you have been fortunate enough to see the Patriots play in person at Gillette stadium in the past 10 or so years you no doubt have seen the banner that has hung in the north east corner of the lower bowl at field level. It is placed there by season ticket holders who occupy those seats. It simply reads "54 FULL TILT FULL TIME" - it is in honor of the one and only Tedy Bruschi. The guy this show refers to as Tedy Beercan. Full Tilt came to an end today as he announced his retirement.

The guys celebrate his career and play a song in his tribute. Adam and Timmy also rant about the Sox and the upcoming College Football season as well. Thanks for listening and we'll see you on the field.

    Is It Just Me?

Maybe it’s the impending doom on Wall St. Maybe it’s the incredibly important election that is about to take place. Maybe it’s the fact that I am moving to Connecticut and can’t find a damn place to live. Maybe it’s all of the above. Whatever it is, it’s got me not even paying attention to Boston sports these days.

Sure I still watched the Patriots v. Dolphins game on Sunday and almost jumped out my window after the 1st quarter. Yes, I am excited that the Red Sox have officially clinched a playoff berth. I am even happy for the BC Eagles for their big win on Saturday and I can’t wait for the Celtics to hit the court for the first time in the 2008 season.

I just can’t get excited about anything right now. Is it possible that this is a championship hangover that has finally started to kick in? It’s not just coming off the Celtics championship that has me all sorts of eh about sports right now. Nope, I don’t think it’s the World Series that the Red Sox most recently won and are on the verge of winning again this year. It’s not even the Super Bowl that the Patriots almost won last year. It’s something more then that.

Here’s an example. I watched the Patriots game on Sunday and didn’t really even care that they lost. So, they are 21-1 now, what does that mean in the grand scheme of things? NOTHING. They could go 10-6 this season and make the playoffs, which they just might do. Maybe they’ll go 12-4 and all will be right with the world. But if they go 6-10 will I jump off the Founders Bridge in Hartford? Probably not.

Here’s the reason, I have no right to complain. I really don’t. The New England Patriots have won more Super Bowl’s in the last decade then any other team, if they have a bad season, hey shiiiii happens. The Red Sox have won more World Series rings in the last decade then any other team, if they don’t make it this year, hey shiiiii happens. The Celtics have more championship banners hanging from the rafters then any other team, if they don’t repeat this year, you get the idea…

Don’t take this the wrong way, I love me some Soxtober baseball. The crisp New England air, the crack of the bat and an ice cold brew to wash down my nachos, I’m lovin it. I will be cheering on the Red Sox louder then anyone else in New England during the post season, but unlike the past, if they lose I will not be devastated and neither should you.

We live in the best sports city in the world. We have dominated and will continue to dominate the major professional sports (sans hockey) and if for one game, for one season, for one championship we don’t dominate, so be it, we’ll get ‘em next year.

    That being said…

    The Tampa Bay Rays Suck
    The LA Angels Suck
    The Indianapolis Colts SUCK
    The NY Giants SUCK
    The LA Lakers Suck
    The Montreal Canadians Suck

There I said it…GO SOX!! GO PATS!! GO CELTS!! GO BRUINS!! GO EAGLES!! GO MINUTEMEN!!
