It was pure Red Sox baseball. The Sox pulled ahead early. Gave up the lead in the middle and were on the verge of coming back in the ninth. Manny was at the plate, looking to just be Manny. There was one out, runners on 1st and 2nd, hitters count and Manny hit an infield pop up. It took two pitches to get Mikey Lowell and the rest was history. As much as it sucks that the Red Sox lost and are no longer in 1st place, I will say, this is way MLB is so exciting throughout the season. You never know what's going to happen. Last week on Wicked Pissa Dude Radio we were fired up that the Sox were in 1st place and one week later, on the verge of another Wicked Pissa Dude Radio show, the Sox are now 1 game back and the battle for first begins.
I imagine that Seattle will treat the BoSox slightly better then the City of Angels did, but who knows. With Papi on the verge of coming back to the line-up and Lowrie filling in pretty nicely for Lugo, the Sox will be fine. It just would have been nice for them to be able to split this weekend series with the Angels, but such is not the case.
As Timmy would say, we cannot win nationally televised games. My take on it is that Jeannie Glasko (I don't know how to spell her name and I hate her so much it's not even worth Googling it, so F-her) is jinxing the Red Sox and obviously Kevin Kennedy hates the Sox. The only silver lining to today's round of Fox Saturday Baseball was, NO JOE BUCK!! AMEN!!!

On the arm of Dice-K, the Sox finally ended their losing skid against the Brewers tonight. Check out the box score and the game story here.
The Sox are back in action in about five minutes and hoping to make it two in a row. I feel terrible that the Sox have gotten a bit overshadowed by the C's on Wicked Pissa Dude but given the Celts are in the playoffs and that the Sox have been sucking ass right now, I guess it should be understood.
I will not hate on the Red Sox right now, let's just keep the hope alive and know that they are just slumping and will return to World Champion form soon...I hope...GO SOX!!!

Manny Being Manny...gotta love it. Even though the Sox are stinking it up right now, Manny continues to entertain. After his great catch, he high fives a fan in the crowd and then pops out this gem...
"It was fun. I love it. I think, you know, that's how you get your All-Star vote. I'm pretty sure that guy's gonna vote for me. It's one at a time, you know. Get your votes one at a time."
You got my vote Manny!!!

Hmmm...I wonder if this is a good sign for the future of Game 3 with the Celtics. The Sox finally pulled one off. After two blown saves by Pap, he came in and shut down the Twins in the ninth, Sox win 5-2. Click here for the box score. On a side note, there is a girl I work with, but she works in Minnesota. We got talking about baseball because of this weekends series and I asked her if she had been to Fenway. She said she drove by it once and saw the "Green Giant" I am NOT LYING, she called it the green giant. I corrected her and gave her a big old ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME, for all of you!!!

Schill is on his way back. Here's my prediction, he will return late August just in time to get in rhythm for the playoffs. Read the article here.
