Celtics give Danny boy the "corporate hug"

The Boston Celtics have extended Danny Ainge's contract and given him a new job title.
Ainge, whose acquisitions of Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen spurred the Celtics to their 17th NBA title last season, was promoted to president of basketball operations from executive director of basketball operations and GM. The team did not disclose the terms of the deal.
"Danny has been a key part of building our world championship team and basketball program," team managing partner and co-owner Stephen Pagliuca said in a statement announcing the move. "He represents all that is the best of Celtics Pride and we applaud his success."
Ainge, last season's NBA executive of the year, is in his sixth season at the helm of the Celtics' basketball operations. As a player he appeared in four NBA Finals with the Celtics, winning titles in 1984 and 1986.
