A torn ACL could sideline MVP TFB for the rest of the season according to initial reports. Click here for the story.
Until the Patriots officially announce his fate, I will not make any judgement call on this injury, but if it is as bad as reports are saying, it's time to look to the future. Is the Patriots future Matt Cassel? I don't honestly think so.
How about a bold move from the couch to bring Kevin O'Connell into the season? Are we worried that he is too inexperienced? I don't think so. Look at Matty Ryan's game today for the Falcons. That team couldn't catch a break last year and they put up some good numbers today with a rookie under center.
So I guess the real question is, who gives us a better chance to compete, Matt Cassel or Kevin O'Connell? If the answer is Matt Cassel, then let's keep him in the lineup and keep it moving towards Tampa. If it's Kevin O'Connel, let the rebuilding begin. A new face for a continued dynasty.
To Tom Brady. If this is a season ending injury, we will all stand with you in your recovery and welcome you back with open arms, at least I will. I would hate to see a Drew Bledsoe type move pulled on TFB. Well, then again, that would mean we would have won the Super Bowl and that wouldn't be that bad now would it?
Much, much more on this to come on Wicked Pissa Dude Radio this Tuesday night.
