One guess which city has a sports team on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week. Can you guess? Yes, again. The Patriots defense is on the cover this week. Jinx? Or just more motivation? I love it. ESPN the Magazine and SI have become New England's own personal PR machines. This is about the 5th straight week with a Boston team on at least one if not both publications. Hahaha.
For those of you that don't remember the 80's with the wide eyed optimism that I recall, let me tell you something. This is it. These are the seven years of plenty. A famine of some sort is on the way in the future for us. So enjoy it, pound your chest, drink it in and pass it on to your children. My boys at 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 respectively have no choice in the matter. We are a sports household. Aidan my oldest sees Sportscenter and can identify teams by uniform already. Focused. I am raising abhorrent masshole sports fans. I love it.
Great quote from "Fever Pitch" when Jimmy Fallon's character is explaining his relationship with the Red Sox. "I like being part of something that's bigger than me-than I. It's good for your soul to invest in something that you can't control."
Right now the return on investment is paying off, use some of that good fortune to buy a bigger TV. After all the Super Bowl is only 87 days away. Belichick's drab grey sweatshirt looks so much better in HD!
Enjoy kids.
